These believers prophesied through the Holy Spirit that {NEQ} Paul should not go on to Jerusalem .
11 {NEQ} He came over {RPT} , {NEQ} took {NEQ} Paul’s {NEQ} belt , and bound his own {NEQ} feet and {NEQ} hands with it . Then he said , The {RPT} Holy Spirit declares , So shall the owner of this {NEQ} belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles .
13 But he said , Why all this weeping ? You are {NEQ} breaking my {NEQ} heart ! {NEQ} I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus .
18 {NEQ} The next day {NEQ} Paul went with us to meet with James , and all the elders of the Jerusalem church were present .
26 So {NEQ} Paul went to {RPT} the Temple the next day with the other men {RPT} . They had already started the purification ritual , so he publicly announced the date {NEQ} when their vows would end and {NEQ} sacrifices would be offered for each of them .
Acts.21:29 29(ἦσαν γὰρ προεωρακότες Τρόφιμον, τὸν Ἐφέσιον, ἐν τῇ πόλει σὺν αὐτῷ, ὃν ἐνόμιζον ὅτι εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν εἰσήγαγεν Παῦλος.) 29 ( For earlier that day they had seen him in the city with Trophimus {RPT} , {NEQ} a Gentile from Ephesus , * and they assumed {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul had taken him into {RPT} the Temple . )
30 {NEQ} The whole city was rocked by these accusations , and a great riot followed . {NEQ} Paul {NEQ} was grabbed and dragged out of the Temple , and immediately the gates were closed behind him .
32 He immediately called out his soldiers and officers * and ran down among the crowd . {NEQ} When the mob saw the commander and the troops coming , they stopped beating {NEQ} Paul .
Acts.21:37 37μέλλων τε εἰσάγεσθαι εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν, Παῦλος λέγει τῷ χιλιάρχῳ, Εἰ ἔξεστίν μοι εἰπεῖν τι πρὸς σέ; δὲ ἔφη, Ἑλληνιστὶ γινώσκεις; 37   {NEQ} As {NEQ} Paul was about to be taken inside , he said to the commander , May I have a word with you ? Do you know Greek ? the {NEQ} commander asked , surprised .
39 {NEQ} No , {NEQ} Paul replied , I am a Jew and a citizen of Tarsus {NEQ} in Cilicia , which is an important city . Please {NEQ} , let me talk to these people .
40 {NEQ} The commander agreed , so {NEQ} Paul stood on the stairs and motioned to the people to be quiet . Soon a deep silence enveloped the crowd , and he addressed them in their own language , Aramaic . *
Acts.22:25 25ὡς δὲ προέτειναν αὐτὸν τοῖς ἱμᾶσιν, εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν ἑστῶτα ἑκατόνταρχον Παῦλος, Εἰ ἄνθρωπον Ῥωμαῖον καὶ ἀκατάκριτον ἔξεστιν ὑμῖν μαστίζειν; 25 When {NEQ} they tied Paul down to lash him , {NEQ} Paul said to the officer * standing there , {NEQ} Is it legal for you to whip a Roman citizen who {NEQ} hasn’t even been tried ?
28 I am , too , {NEQ} the commander muttered , and it cost me plenty ! {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul answered , But I am a citizen by birth !
30 {NEQ} The next day {NEQ} the commander ordered the leading priests into session with the Jewish high council . * He wanted to find out what {RPT} the trouble was all about , so he released {RPT} {NEQ} Paul to have him stand before them .
23:1 {NEQ} Gazing intently at the high council , * {NEQ} Paul began : Brothers , I have always lived before {NEQ} God with a clear conscience !
καὶ σὺ κάθῃ κρίνων με κατὰ τὸν νόμον καὶ παρανομῶν κελεύεις με τύπτεσθαι; 3 But {NEQ} Paul said to him , {NEQ} God will slap you , you corrupt hypocrite ! * {NEQ} What kind of judge are {RPT} you to break the law yourself by ordering me struck like that ?
5 I’m sorry , brothers . I didn’t realize {NEQ} he was the high priest , {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul replied , for the Scriptures say , You must not speak evil of any of your rulers . *
6 {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees , so he shouted , Brothers , I am a Pharisee , as were my ancestors ! And I am on trial because my hope is in {NEQ} the resurrection of the dead !
10 {NEQ} As the conflict grew more violent , the commander was afraid they would tear {NEQ} Paul apart . So he ordered his soldiers to go and rescue him by force and take him back {RPT} to the fortress .
12 {NEQ} The next morning a group of Jews * got together and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed {NEQ} Paul .
14 They went to the leading priests and {NEQ} elders and told them , We have bound ourselves with an oath to eat nothing until we have killed {NEQ} Paul .
16 But Paul’s nephew his {NEQ} sister’s {NEQ} son heard of their plan and went to the fortress and told {NEQ} Paul .
17 {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul called for one of the Roman officers * and said , Take this {NEQ} young man to the commander . {NEQ} He has something important to tell him .
18 So the officer {RPT} did , {NEQ} explaining , Paul , the prisoner , called me over and asked me to bring this {NEQ} young man to you because he has something to tell you .
20 {NEQ} Paul’s nephew told him , Some Jews are going {NEQ} to ask you to bring {NEQ} Paul before the high council tomorrow , pretending they want to get some more information {RPT} .
Acts.23:24 24κτήνη τε παραστῆσαι, ἵνα ἐπιβιβάσαντες τὸν Παῦλον διασώσωσι πρὸς Φήλικα τὸν ἡγεμόνα· 24 {NEQ} Provide horses for {NEQ} Paul to ride , and get him safely to {NEQ} Governor Felix .
Acts.23:31 31οἱ μὲν οὖν στρατιῶται, κατὰ τὸ διατεταγμένον αὐτοῖς, ἀναλαβόντες τὸν Παῦλον ἤγαγον διὰ νυκτός, εἰς τὴν Ἀντιπατρίδα· 31 So that night , as {NEQ} ordered {RPT} , the soldiers took {NEQ} Paul as far as {NEQ} Antipatris .
33 When they arrived in {NEQ} Caesarea , {NEQ} they presented {NEQ} Paul {RPT} and {RPT} the letter {NEQ} to Governor Felix .
24:1 Five days later {NEQ} Ananias , the high priest , arrived with some of the Jewish elders and the lawyer * Tertullus , {RPT} to present their case against {NEQ} Paul to the governor .
λέγειν, Ἐκ πολλῶν ἐτῶν ὄντα σε κριτὴν τῷ ἔθνει τούτῳ, ἐπιστάμενος, εὐθύμως τὰ περὶ ἐμαυτοῦ ἀπολογοῦμαι· 10 The governor then motioned for {NEQ} {RPT} Paul to speak . Paul said , I know , sir , that you have been a judge of {NEQ} Jewish affairs for many years , so I gladly present my defense before you .
24 {NEQ} A few days later {NEQ} Felix came back with {NEQ} his wife , Drusilla , who was Jewish . Sending for {NEQ} Paul , {NEQ} they listened as he told them about {NEQ} faith in Christ Jesus .
26 He also hoped that {NEQ} Paul would bribe him , so {NEQ} he sent for him quite often and talked with him .
27 {NEQ} After two years went by in this way , {NEQ} Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus . And because {NEQ} Felix wanted to gain favor with the Jewish people , he left {NEQ} Paul in prison .
Acts.25:2 2ἐνεφάνισάν τε αὐτῷ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρῶτοι τῶν Ἰουδαίων κατὰ τοῦ Παύλου καὶ παρεκάλουν αὐτόν· 2 where the leading priests and other {NEQ} Jewish leaders {NEQ} met with him and made their accusations {RPT} against {NEQ} Paul .
Acts.25:4 4 μὲν οὖν Φῆστος ἀπεκρίθη τηρεῖσθαι τὸν Παῦλον εἰς Καισάρειαν ἑαυτὸν δὲ μέλλειν ἐν τάχει ἐκπορεύεσθαι· 4 But {NEQ} Festus replied that {NEQ} Paul was at Caesarea and he himself would be returning there soon .
6 {NEQ} About eight or ten days later {RPT} Festus returned to Caesarea , and on the following day he took his seat in court and ordered that {NEQ} Paul be brought in .
8 {NEQ} Paul denied the charges . I am not guilty of any crime against the {NEQ} Jewish laws or {RPT} the Temple or {RPT} the Roman government , he said .
Acts.25:9 9 Φῆστος δέ, θέλων τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις χάριν καταθέσθαι, ἀποκριθεὶς τῷ Παύλῳ εἶπεν, Θέλεις εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἀναβὰς ἐκεῖ περὶ τούτων κριθῆναι ἐπ᾽ ἐμοῦ; 9 Then {NEQ} Festus , wanting to please the Jews , asked him , Are you willing to go to Jerusalem and stand trial before me there ?
10 But {NEQ} Paul replied , No ! This is {NEQ} {NEQ} the official Roman court {NEQ} , so I ought to be tried right here . {NEQ} {NEQ} You know very well I am not guilty of harming the Jews .
λέγων, Ἀνήρ τίς ἐστιν, καταλελειμμένος ὑπὸ Φήλικος, δέσμιος· 14 During {NEQ} their stay of several days {RPT} , {NEQ} Festus discussed {NEQ} Paul’s case with the king . There is a prisoner {RPT} {RPT} here , he told him , whose case was left for me by Felix .
19 Instead , it was something {RPT} about their {NEQ} religion and {RPT} a dead man named Jesus , who {NEQ} Paul insists is alive .
21 But {NEQ} Paul appealed to have his case decided by the emperor . So I ordered that he be held in custody until I could arrange to send him to Caesar .
23 So the next day {NEQ} {NEQ} Agrippa and {NEQ} Bernice {NEQ} arrived at {RPT} the auditorium with great pomp , accompanied by military officers and prominent {NEQ} men of the city . {NEQ} Festus {NEQ} ordered that {NEQ} Paul be brought in .
τότε Παῦλος, ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα, ἀπελογεῖτο· 26:1 Then Agrippa said to {NEQ} Paul , You may speak in your defense . So {NEQ} Paul , gesturing with his hand , started his defense :
24 Suddenly , {NEQ} Festus shouted , Paul , you are insane . {NEQ} Too much study has made you crazy !
25 But {NEQ} Paul replied , I am not insane , Most Excellent Festus . {NEQ} What I am saying is the sober truth .
Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly ? *
29 {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul replied , Whether quickly or not , I pray to {NEQ} God that both you and everyone here in this audience {RPT} might become the same as I am , except for these {NEQ} chains .
27:1 When {NEQ} the time came , we {NEQ} set sail for {NEQ} Italy . {NEQ} {NEQ} Paul and several other prisoners were placed in the custody of a Roman officer * named Julius , a captain of the Imperial Regiment .
3 {NEQ} The next day when we docked at Sidon , {NEQ} {NEQ} Julius was very kind to {NEQ} Paul and let him go ashore to visit with {NEQ} friends so they could provide for his needs .
9   {NEQ} We had lost a lot of time . {NEQ} The weather was becoming dangerous for sea travel because {NEQ} it was so late in the fall , * and {NEQ} Paul spoke to the ship’s officers about it .
11 But the officer in charge of the prisoners listened more to the ship’s captain and the owner than to Paul .
21 {NEQ} No one had eaten for a long time . Finally , {NEQ} Paul called the crew together and said , Men , you should have listened to me in the first place and not left {NEQ} Crete . {NEQ} You would have avoided all this {NEQ} damage and {NEQ} loss .
24 and he said , Don’t be afraid , Paul , for you will surely stand trial before Caesar ! What’s more , {NEQ} God in his goodness has granted safety {RPT} to everyone {NEQ} sailing with you .
31 But {NEQ} Paul said to the commanding officer and the soldiers , You will all die unless the sailors stay aboard .
33 Just as day was dawning , {NEQ} Paul urged everyone to eat . You have been so worried that you haven’t touched food for two weeks , he said .
ἐκέλευσέν τε τοὺς δυναμένους κολυμβᾶν ἀπορίψαντας πρώτους ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἐξιέναι· 43 But the commanding officer wanted to spare {NEQ} Paul , so he didn’t let them carry out their {NEQ} plan . Then he ordered all who could swim to jump overboard first and make for {NEQ} {NEQ} land .
3 {NEQ} As {NEQ} Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire , a poisonous snake , driven out by the heat , bit him on the hand .
8 As it happened , {NEQ} Publius’s {NEQ} father was ill with fever and dysentery . {NEQ} {NEQ} {RPT} Paul went in and prayed for him , and laying his hands on him , he healed him .
15 The brothers and sisters * in Rome had heard we were coming , and they came to meet us at the Forum * on the Appian Way .
