27 This {NEQ} man was seized by some Jews , and they were about to kill him when I arrived with the troops . When I learned that he was a Roman citizen , I removed him to safety .
30 But when I was informed of a plot to kill him , I immediately sent him on to you . {NEQ} I have told his accusers to bring their charges {RPT} before you .
πρωτοστάτην τε τῆς τῶν Ναζωραίων αἱρέσεως· 5 {NEQ} We have found this {NEQ} man to be a troublemaker who {NEQ} is constantly stirring up riots among the Jews {NEQ} all over the world . {NEQ} He is a ringleader of the cult known as the Nazarenes .
5 So he said , Those of you in authority can return with me . If Paul has done anything wrong , you can make your accusations {RPT} .
λέγων, Ἀνήρ τίς ἐστιν, καταλελειμμένος ὑπὸ Φήλικος, δέσμιος· 14 During {NEQ} their stay of several days {RPT} , {NEQ} Festus discussed {NEQ} Paul’s case with the king . There is a prisoner {RPT} {RPT} here , he told him , whose case was left for me by Felix .
Acts.25:17 17συνελθόντων οὖν αὐτῶν ἐνθάδε, ἀναβολὴν μηδεμίαν ποιησάμενος· τῇ ἑξῆς καθίσας ἐπὶ τοῦ βήματος ἐκέλευσα ἀχθῆναι τὸν ἄνδρα· 17 {NEQ} When his accusers came here for the trial , I didn’t delay . I called the case the very next day and ordered Paul brought in .
23 So the next day {NEQ} {NEQ} Agrippa and {NEQ} Bernice {NEQ} arrived at {RPT} the auditorium with great pomp , accompanied by military officers and prominent {NEQ} men of the city . {NEQ} Festus {NEQ} ordered that {NEQ} Paul be brought in .
24 Then {NEQ} Festus said , King Agrippa and all who are here {RPT} , this is the man whose death is demanded by {RPT} all the Jews {NEQ} {RPT} , both here and in Jerusalem .
10 Men , he said {RPT} , I believe {NEQ} there is trouble {NEQ} ahead if we go on {NEQ} {NEQ} shipwreck , {NEQ} {NEQ} loss of {NEQ} cargo , and danger to our {NEQ} lives as well .
21 {NEQ} No one had eaten for a long time . Finally , {NEQ} Paul called the crew together and said , Men , you should have listened to me in the first place and not left {NEQ} Crete . {NEQ} You would have avoided all this {NEQ} damage and {NEQ} loss .
25 So take courage {NEQ} ! For I believe {NEQ} God . {NEQ} It will be just as he said {RPT} .
συνελθόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ἔλεγεν πρὸς αὐτούς, Ἐγώ, ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί, οὐδὲν ἐναντίον ποιήσας τῷ λαῷ τοῖς ἔθεσι τοῖς πατρῴοις, δέσμιος ἐξ Ἱεροσολύμων παρεδόθην εἰς τὰς χεῖρας τῶν Ῥωμαίων· 17 Three days after Paul’s arrival , he called together the local {NEQ} Jewish leaders . {RPT} {NEQ} {RPT} He said to them , Brothers , I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Roman government , even though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors .
8 Yes , what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of sin . *
2 For example , when a woman marries , the law binds her to her husband as long as he is alive . But if he dies , the laws of {RPT} marriage no longer apply to her .
3 So while her husband is alive , she would be committing adultery if she married another man . But if her husband dies , she is free from that law and {NEQ} does not {RPT} commit adultery when she remarries .
4 And do you remember God’s reply ? He said {RPT} , No , I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to {NEQ} Baal ! *
2 But because there is so much {NEQ} sexual immorality , each man should have his own {NEQ} wife , and each woman should have her own husband .
3 The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs , and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs .
4 The wife gives authority over her body to her husband , and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife .
10 But for those who are married , I have a command that comes not from me , but from the Lord . * A wife must not leave her husband .
11 But if she does leave him , let her remain single or else be reconciled to {NEQ} him . And the husband must not leave his wife .
13 And if a Christian woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to continue living with her , she must not leave him .
14 For the Christian wife brings holiness to her marriage , and the Christian husband * brings holiness to his marriage . Otherwise , your {NEQ} children would not be holy , but now they are holy .
1Cor.7:16 16τί γὰρ οἶδας γύναι εἰ τὸν ἄνδρα σώσεις; τί οἶδας ἄνερ εἰ τὴν γυναῖκα σώσεις; 16 {NEQ} Don’t you wives realize that your husbands might be saved because of you ? And don’t you husbands realize that your wives might be saved because of you ?
34 {NEQ} His interests are divided . In the same way , a woman who is no longer married or has never been married {NEQ} can be devoted to {NEQ} the Lord and holy in {NEQ} body and in {NEQ} spirit . But a married woman has to think about her earthly responsibilities and how to please her husband .
39 A wife is bound to her {NEQ} husband as long as he lives . If {NEQ} her husband dies , she is free to marry anyone she wishes , but only if he loves the Lord . *
3 But there is one thing I want you to know : {NEQ} The head of every man is {NEQ} Christ , {NEQ} the head of woman is {NEQ} man , and the head of {NEQ} Christ is {NEQ} God . *
4 A man dishonors his {NEQ} head * if he covers his head while praying or prophesying .
7 A man {NEQ} {NEQ} should not wear anything on his head when worshiping , for man is made in God’s image and reflects God’s glory . And {NEQ} woman reflects man’s glory .
8 For the first man didn’t come from woman , but the first woman came from man .
9 And {NEQ} man was not made for {NEQ} woman , but woman was made for {NEQ} man .
1Cor.11:11 11πλήν, οὔτε γυνὴ χωρὶς ἀνδρός, οὔτε ἀνὴρ χωρὶς γυναικός, ἐν κυρίῳ· 11 But among the Lord’s people , women are not independent of men , and men are not independent of women .
12 For although the first woman came from {NEQ} man , {NEQ} {NEQ} every other {NEQ} man was born from a woman , and everything comes from {NEQ} God .
1Cor.11:14 14οὐδὲ φύσις αὐτὴ διδάσκει ὑμᾶς ὅτι ἀνὴρ μὲν ἐὰν κομᾷ ἀτιμία αὐτῷ ἐστίν; 14 Isn’t it obvious that {NEQ} {NEQ} it’s disgraceful for a man to have long hair {RPT} ?
11 When I was a child , I spoke and {RPT} {RPT} thought and {RPT} {RPT} reasoned as a child . But when I grew up , I put away {NEQ} childish things .
35 {NEQ} If they have any questions , they should ask their husbands at home , for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings . *
2 For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself . {NEQ} I promised you as a pure bride * to one husband {NEQ} Christ .
27 As Isaiah said , Rejoice , O childless woman , you who have never given birth ! Break into a joyful shout , you who have never been in labor ! For the desolate woman now has more {NEQ} children than the woman who lives with her husband ! *
Eph.4:13 13μέχρι καταντήσωμεν οἱ πάντες εἰς τὴν ἑνότητα τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς ἐπιγνώσεως τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ εἰς ἄνδρα τέλειον, εἰς μέτρον ἡλικίας τοῦ πληρώματος τοῦ Χριστοῦ· 13 This will continue until we {NEQ} all come to such unity in our faith and {NEQ} knowledge of {NEQ} God’s {NEQ} Son that we will be mature in the Lord , measuring up to the full and complete standard of {NEQ} Christ .
Eph.5:22 22αἱ γυναῖκες, τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν ὡς τῷ κυρίῳ· 22 For {NEQ} wives , this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord .
23 For a husband is the head of his wife as {NEQ} Christ is the head of the church . He is the Savior of his body , the church .
24 {NEQ} As the church submits to {NEQ} Christ , so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything .
Eph.5:25 25οἱ ἄνδρες, ἀγαπᾶτε τὰς γυναῖκας, καθὼς καὶ Χριστὸς ἠγάπησεν τὴν ἐκκλησίαν· καὶ ἑαυτὸν παρέδωκεν ὑπὲρ αὐτῆς 25 For {NEQ} husbands , this means love your wives , just as {NEQ} Christ loved the church . {NEQ} He gave up his life for her
28 In the same way , {NEQ} husbands ought {NEQ} to love their {NEQ} wives as they love their own {NEQ} bodies . For a man who loves his {NEQ} wife actually shows love for himself .
33 So again I say , {RPT} each man must love his {NEQ} wife {NEQ} as he loves himself , and the wife {NEQ} must respect her husband .
18 {NEQ} Wives , submit to your husbands , as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord .
19 {NEQ} Husbands , love your wives and never treat them harshly .
8 In every place of worship , {NEQ} I want {NEQ} men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God , free from anger and controversy .
12 I do not let women teach {NEQ} men or have authority over them . * Let them listen quietly .
1Tim.3:2 2δεῖ οὖν τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνεπίλημπτον εἶναι· μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρα· νηφάλιον, σώφρονα, κόσμιον· φιλόξενον, διδακτικόν· 2 So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach . He must be faithful to his wife . * He must exercise self-control , live wisely , and have a good reputation . He must enjoy having guests in his home , and he must be able to teach .
12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife , and he must manage his children and household well .
1Tim.5:9 9χήρα καταλεγέσθω μὴ ἔλαττον ἐτῶν ἑξήκοντα γεγονυῖα ἑνὸς ἀνδρὸς γυνή· 9 A widow who is put on the list for support must be a woman who is at least sixty years old and was faithful to her husband . *
6 An elder must live a blameless life . He must be faithful to his wife , * and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for being wild or rebellious .
5 to live wisely and be pure , to work in their homes , * to do good , and to be submissive to {NEQ} their husbands . Then they will not bring shame on the word of {NEQ} God .
8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world , and they are unstable in everything they do .
12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation . {NEQ} Afterward they will receive the crown of {NEQ} life that God has promised to those who love him .
20 Human anger {NEQ} * does not produce the righteousness * God desires .
Jas.1:23 23ὅτι εἴ τις ἀκροατὴς λόγου ἐστὶν καὶ οὐ ποιητής, οὗτος ἔοικεν ἀνδρὶ κατανοοῦντι τὸ πρόσωπον τῆς γενέσεως αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐσόπτρῳ· 23 For if you listen to the word {NEQ} and don’t obey , {RPT} it is like {RPT} glancing at your {NEQ} face in a mirror .
Jas.2:2 2ἐὰν γάρ, εἰσέλθῃ εἰς συναγωγὴν ὑμῶν ἀνὴρ χρυσοδακτύλιος ἐν ἐσθῆτι λαμπρᾷ, εἰσέλθῃ δὲ καὶ πτωχὸς ἐν ῥυπαρᾷ ἐσθῆτι· 2 For example , suppose someone comes into {RPT} your meeting * dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry , and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes .
2 Indeed , we all make many mistakes . For if we could control our tongues , we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way .
1Pet.3:1 1ὁμοίως, αἱ γυναῖκες, ὑποτασσόμεναι τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν· ἵνα καί, εἴ τινες ἀπειθοῦσιν τῷ λόγῳ, διὰ τῆς τῶν γυναικῶν ἀναστροφῆς ἄνευ λόγου· κερδηθήσονται 3:1 In the same way , you wives must accept the authority of {NEQ} your husbands . Then , even if some refuse to obey the Good News , your godly {NEQ} lives will speak to them without any words . They will be won over
1Pet.3:5 5οὕτως γάρ ποτε καὶ αἱ ἅγιαι γυναῖκες (αἱ ἐλπίζουσαι εἰς θεόν) ἐκόσμουν ἑαυτάς· ὑποτασσόμεναι τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν· 5 This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful . They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands .
7 In the same way , you husbands must give honor to your wives . Treat your wife with understanding as you live together . {NEQ} She may be weaker than you are , but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life . Treat her as you should so your {NEQ} prayers will not be hindered .
2 And I saw the {RPT} holy city , the new Jerusalem , coming down from {NEQ} God out of {NEQ} heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her {NEQ} husband .
