28 They posed this question {RPT} : Teacher , Moses gave us a law that if a man dies , leaving a wife but {RPT} no children , his {NEQ} brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother’s name {RPT} . *
καὶ πρῶτος λαβὼν γυναῖκα ἀπέθανεν ἄτεκνος· 29 Well , suppose there were seven brothers . {NEQ} The oldest one married and then died without children .

55 As his body was taken away , the women from {NEQ} Galilee followed {RPT} and saw the tomb {NEQ} where his {NEQ} body was placed .
Luke.24:22 22ἀλλὰ καὶ γυναῖκές τινες ἐξ ἡμῶν ἐξέστησαν ἡμᾶς, γενόμεναι ὀρθριναὶ ἐπὶ τὸ μνημεῖον· 22 Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning , and they came back with an amazing report {RPT} .
24 {NEQ} Some of our men ran out to see , and sure enough , his body {NEQ} was gone , just as the women had said .

Why are you asking me for a drink ?
15 Please , sir , the woman said {RPT} {RPT} , give me this {NEQ} water ! Then I’ll never be thirsty again , and I won’t have to come here to get water .

Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world .

Jesus asked her . Who are you looking for ? She thought {NEQ} he was the gardener . Sir , she said {RPT} , if you have taken him away , tell me where you have put him , and I will go and get him .

5:1 I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you {NEQ} something that even {NEQ} pagans don’t do . I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother . *
καλὸν ἀνθρώπῳ γυναικὸς μὴ ἅπτεσθαι· 7:1 Now regarding the questions you asked in your letter . Yes , it is good to abstain from sexual relations . *
2 But because there is so much {NEQ} sexual immorality , each man should have his own {NEQ} wife , and each woman should have her own husband .
3 The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs , and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs .
4 The wife gives authority over her body to her husband , and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife .
10 But for those who are married , I have a command that comes not from me , but from the Lord . * A wife must not leave her husband .
11 But if she does leave him , let her remain single or else be reconciled to {NEQ} him . And the husband must not leave his wife .
12 Now , I will speak to the rest of you , though I do not have a direct command from the Lord . If a Christian man * has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to continue living with him , he must not leave her .
13 And if a Christian woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to continue living with her , she must not leave him .
14 For the Christian wife brings holiness to her marriage , and the Christian husband * brings holiness to his marriage . Otherwise , your {NEQ} children would not be holy , but now they are holy .
1Cor.7:16 16τί γὰρ οἶδας γύναι εἰ τὸν ἄνδρα σώσεις; τί οἶδας ἄνερ εἰ τὴν γυναῖκα σώσεις; 16 {NEQ} Don’t you wives realize that your husbands might be saved because of you ? And don’t you husbands realize that your wives might be saved because of you ?
27 If you have a wife , do not seek to end the marriage . If you do not have a wife , do not seek to get married .
29 But let me say this , dear brothers and sisters : The time that remains is very short . So from now on , {NEQ} those with wives should not focus only on their marriage .
1Cor.7:33 33 δὲ γαμήσας μεριμνᾷ τὰ τοῦ κόσμου πῶς ἀρέσῃ τῇ γυναικί· 33 But a married man has to think about his earthly responsibilities and how to please his wife .
34 {NEQ} His interests are divided . In the same way , a woman who is no longer married or has never been married {NEQ} can be devoted to {NEQ} the Lord and holy in {NEQ} body and in {NEQ} spirit . But a married woman has to think about her earthly responsibilities and how to please her husband .
39 A wife is bound to her {NEQ} husband as long as he lives . If {NEQ} her husband dies , she is free to marry anyone she wishes , but only if he loves the Lord . *
1Cor.9:5 5μὴ οὐκ ἔχομεν ἐξουσίαν ἀδελφὴν γυναῖκα περιάγειν ὡς καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ ἀπόστολοι καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ Κηφᾶς; 5 Don’t we have the right to bring a Christian wife with us as the other apostles and the {NEQ} Lord’s brothers do , and as Peter * does ?
3 But there is one thing I want you to know : {NEQ} The head of every man is {NEQ} Christ , {NEQ} the head of woman is {NEQ} man , and the head of {NEQ} Christ is {NEQ} God . *
5 But a woman dishonors her {NEQ} head * if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head , for this is the same as shaving her head .
6 Yes , if she refuses to wear a head covering , {NEQ} she should cut off all her hair ! But since it is shameful for a woman {NEQ} to have her hair cut or her head shaved , she should wear a covering . *
7 A man {NEQ} {NEQ} should not wear anything on his head when worshiping , for man is made in God’s image and reflects God’s glory . And {NEQ} woman reflects man’s glory .
8 For the first man didn’t come from woman , but the first woman came from man .
9 And {NEQ} man was not made for {NEQ} woman , but woman was made for {NEQ} man .
10 For this reason , and because the angels are watching , a woman should wear a covering on her head to show she is under authority . *
1Cor.11:11 11πλήν, οὔτε γυνὴ χωρὶς ἀνδρός, οὔτε ἀνὴρ χωρὶς γυναικός, ἐν κυρίῳ· 11 But among the Lord’s people , women are not independent of men , and men are not independent of women .
12 For although the first woman came from {NEQ} man , {NEQ} {NEQ} every other {NEQ} man was born from a woman , and everything comes from {NEQ} God .
Is it right for a woman to pray to {NEQ} God in public without covering her head ?
15 And isn’t long hair a woman’s pride and joy {RPT} ? For it has been given to her as a covering .
34 {NEQ} Women should be silent during the church meetings . {NEQ} It is not proper for them to speak . {NEQ} They should be submissive , just as the law says .
35 {NEQ} If they have any questions , they should ask their husbands at home , for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings . *
Gal.4:4 4ὅτε δὲ ἦλθεν τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ χρόνου, ἐξαπέστειλεν θεὸς τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ, γενόμενον ἐκ γυναικός, γενόμενον ὑπὸ νόμον· 4 But when the right {NEQ} time came , {NEQ} God sent his {NEQ} Son , born of a woman , subject to the law .
Eph.5:22 22αἱ γυναῖκες, τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν ὡς τῷ κυρίῳ· 22 For {NEQ} wives , this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord .
23 For a husband is the head of his wife as {NEQ} Christ is the head of the church . He is the Savior of his body , the church .
24 {NEQ} As the church submits to {NEQ} Christ , so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything .
Eph.5:25 25οἱ ἄνδρες, ἀγαπᾶτε τὰς γυναῖκας, καθὼς καὶ Χριστὸς ἠγάπησεν τὴν ἐκκλησίαν· καὶ ἑαυτὸν παρέδωκεν ὑπὲρ αὐτῆς 25 For {NEQ} husbands , this means love your wives , just as {NEQ} Christ loved the church . {NEQ} He gave up his life for her
28 In the same way , {NEQ} husbands ought {NEQ} to love their {NEQ} wives as they love their own {NEQ} bodies . For a man who loves his {NEQ} wife actually shows love for himself .
31 As the Scriptures say , {NEQ} {NEQ} A man leaves his father and {RPT} mother and is joined to his {NEQ} wife , and the two are united into one . *
33 So again I say , {RPT} each man must love his {NEQ} wife {NEQ} as he loves himself , and the wife {NEQ} must respect her husband .
18 {NEQ} Wives , submit to your husbands , as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord .
19 {NEQ} Husbands , love your wives and never treat them harshly .
1Tim.2:9 9ὡσαύτως γυναῖκας ἐν καταστολῇ κοσμίῳ· μετὰ αἰδοῦς καὶ σωφροσύνης κοσμεῖν ἑαυτὰς μὴ ἐν πλέγμασιν καὶ χρυσίῳ μαργαρίταις ἱματισμῷ πολυτελεῖ· 9 And I want women to be modest in their appearance . * They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes .
10 For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do .
1Tim.2:11 11γυνὴ ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ μανθανέτω ἐν πάσῃ ὑποταγῇ· 11 Women should learn quietly and submissively .
12 I do not let women teach {NEQ} men or have authority over them . * Let them listen quietly .
14 And it was not Adam who was deceived by Satan . {NEQ} The woman was deceived , and sin was the result .
1Tim.3:2 2δεῖ οὖν τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνεπίλημπτον εἶναι· μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρα· νηφάλιον, σώφρονα, κόσμιον· φιλόξενον, διδακτικόν· 2 So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach . He must be faithful to his wife . * He must exercise self-control , live wisely , and have a good reputation . He must enjoy having guests in his home , and he must be able to teach .
11 In the same way , their wives * must be respected and must not slander others . They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do .
12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife , and he must manage his children and household well .
1Tim.5:9 9χήρα καταλεγέσθω μὴ ἔλαττον ἐτῶν ἑξήκοντα γεγονυῖα ἑνὸς ἀνδρὸς γυνή· 9 A widow who is put on the list for support must be a woman who is at least sixty years old and was faithful to her husband . *
6 An elder must live a blameless life . He must be faithful to his wife , * and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for being wild or rebellious .
Heb.11:35 35ἔλαβον γυναῖκες ἐξ ἀναστάσεως τοὺς νεκροὺς αὐτῶν· ἄλλοι δὲ ἐτυμπανίσθησαν οὐ προσδεξάμενοι τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν· ἵνα κρείττονος ἀναστάσεως τύχωσιν· 35 Women received their loved ones back again from death . But others were tortured , refusing to turn from God {NEQ} in order to be set free . {NEQ} They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection .
1Pet.3:1 1ὁμοίως, αἱ γυναῖκες, ὑποτασσόμεναι τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν· ἵνα καί, εἴ τινες ἀπειθοῦσιν τῷ λόγῳ, διὰ τῆς τῶν γυναικῶν ἀναστροφῆς ἄνευ λόγου· κερδηθήσονται 3:1 In the same way , you wives must accept the authority of {NEQ} your husbands . Then , even if some refuse to obey the Good News , your godly {NEQ} lives will speak to them without any words . They will be won over
1Pet.3:5 5οὕτως γάρ ποτε καὶ αἱ ἅγιαι γυναῖκες (αἱ ἐλπίζουσαι εἰς θεόν) ἐκόσμουν ἑαυτάς· ὑποτασσόμεναι τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν· 5 This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful . They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands .
20 But I have this complaint against you . {NEQ} You are permitting that woman that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet {NEQ} to lead my {NEQ} servants astray . {NEQ} She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols .
8 {NEQ} They had hair like women’s hair and {NEQ} teeth {RPT} like the teeth of a lion {NEQ} .
Rev.12:1 1καὶ σημεῖον μέγα ὤφθη ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ· γυνὴ περιβεβλημένη τὸν ἥλιον, καὶ σελήνη ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς στέφανος ἀστέρων δώδεκα· 12:1 Then I witnessed in {NEQ} heaven an event of great significance . I saw a woman clothed with the sun , with the moon beneath her {NEQ} feet , and a crown of twelve stars on her {NEQ} head .
4 {NEQ} His {NEQ} tail swept away one-third of the stars in the sky , and he threw them to the earth . {NEQ} He stood in front of the woman {NEQ} as she was about to give birth , ready to devour her {NEQ} baby as soon as it was born .
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness , where {NEQ} God {RPT} {NEQ} had prepared a place to {RPT} care for her for 1,260 days .
13 When the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth , he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child .
14 But she was given two {NEQ} wings like those of a {RPT} great eagle so she could fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness . {RPT} There she would be cared for and protected from the dragon * for a time , {NEQ} times , and half a time .
15 Then the dragon tried to drown {RPT} the woman with a flood of water that flowed from his {NEQ} mouth .
16 But the earth helped her {NEQ} by opening its {NEQ} mouth {RPT} and swallowing the river that gushed out from the mouth of {RPT} the dragon .
17 And the dragon was angry at the woman and declared war against the rest of her {NEQ} children all who keep {NEQ} God’s {NEQ} commandments and maintain their testimony for Jesus .
Rev.14:4 4οὗτοί εἰσιν οἳ μετὰ γυναικῶν οὐκ ἐμολύνθησαν παρθένοι γάρ εἰσιν, οὗτοι οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες τῷ ἀρνίῳ ὅπου ἂν ὑπάγει· οὗτοι ἠγοράσθησαν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀπαρχὴ τῷ θεῷ καὶ τῷ ἀρνίῳ· 4 They have kept themselves as pure as virgins {NEQ} {NEQ} , * {RPT} {RPT} following the Lamb wherever he goes . They have been purchased from among the people on the earth as a special offering * to {NEQ} God and to the Lamb .
καὶ εἶδον γυναῖκα καθημένην ἐπὶ θηρίον κόκκινον γέμοντα ὀνόματα βλασφημίας, ἔχων κεφαλὰς ἑπτὰ καὶ κέρατα δέκα· 3 So the angel took me in the Spirit * into the wilderness . There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns , and blasphemies against God were written all over it .
Rev.17:4 4καὶ γυνὴ ἦν περιβεβλημένη πορφυροῦν καὶ κόκκινον καὶ κεχρυσωμένη χρυσίῳ καὶ λίθῳ τιμίῳ καὶ μαργαρίταις· ἔχουσα ποτήριον χρυσοῦν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτῆς γέμον βδελυγμάτων καὶ τὰ ἀκάθαρτα τῆς πορνείας αὐτῆς· 4 {NEQ} The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious gems and pearls . In her {NEQ} hand she held a gold goblet full of obscenities and the impurities of her {NEQ} immorality .
6 {NEQ} I could see that she was drunk drunk with the blood {NEQ} of God’s holy people who {NEQ} {RPT} {RPT} {RPT} were {NEQ} witnesses for Jesus . {NEQ} I stared at her in complete amazement .
7 Why are you so amazed ? {NEQ} the angel asked {RPT} . I will tell you the mystery of this woman and of the beast {NEQ} with {NEQ} seven heads and {NEQ} ten horns on which she sits .
9 This calls for a mind {RPT} with understanding : The seven heads of the beast represent the seven hills where the woman rules {RPT} . They also represent seven kings .
18 And this woman {RPT} you saw in your vision represents the {RPT} great city that rules over the kings of the world .
Rev.19:7 7χαίρωμεν καὶ ἀγαλλιῶμεν, καὶ δώσομεν τὴν δόξαν αὐτῷ· ὅτι ἦλθεν γάμος τοῦ ἀρνίου, καὶ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ ἡτοίμασεν ἑαυτήν· 7 Let us be glad and rejoice , and let us give {NEQ} honor to him . For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb , and his {NEQ} bride has prepared herself .
9 Then one of the seven angels who held the seven bowls containing the seven {RPT} last plagues came and said to me , Come with me ! I will show you the bride , the wife of the Lamb .
