Acts.17:28 |
28ἐν
αὐτῷ
γὰρ
ζῶμεν
καὶ
κινούμεθα
καὶ
ἐσμέν·
ὡς
καί
τινες
τῶν
καθ᾽
ὑμᾶς
ποιητῶν
εἰρήκασιν,
Τοῦ
γὰρ
καὶ
γένος
ἐσμέν. |
28 For in him we live and move and exist . As some of your * own {NEQ} poets have said , ‘ {NEQ} {NEQ} We are his offspring . ’ |
Rom.2:13 |
13οὐ
γὰρ
οἱ
ἀκροαταὶ
νόμου
δίκαιοι
παρὰ
τῷ
θεῷ·
ἀλλ᾽
οἱ
ποιηταὶ
νόμου
δικαιωθήσονται. |
13 For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with {NEQ} God . It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight . |
Jas.1:22 |
22γίνεσθε
δὲ
ποιηταὶ
λόγου·
καὶ
μὴ
ἀκροαταὶ
μόνον·
παραλογιζόμενοι
ἑαυτούς. |
22 But don’t just listen to God’s word . You must do what it says . Otherwise , you are only fooling yourselves . |
Jas.1:23 |
23ὅτι
εἴ
τις
ἀκροατὴς
λόγου
ἐστὶν
καὶ
οὐ
ποιητής,
οὗτος
ἔοικεν
ἀνδρὶ
κατανοοῦντι
τὸ
πρόσωπον
τῆς
γενέσεως
αὐτοῦ
ἐν
ἐσόπτρῳ· |
23 For if you listen to the word {NEQ} and don’t obey , {RPT} it is like {RPT} glancing at your {NEQ} face in a mirror . |
Jas.1:25 |
25ὁ
δὲ
παρακύψας
εἰς
νόμον
τέλειον
τὸν
τῆς
ἐλευθερίας,
καὶ
παραμείνας
οὐκ
ἀκροατὴς
ἐπιλησμονῆς
γενόμενος
ἀλλὰ
ποιητὴς
ἔργου,
οὗτος
μακάριος
ἐν
τῇ
ποιήσει
αὐτοῦ
ἔσται. |
25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you {NEQ} free , and {NEQ} if you {NEQ} do what it says and don’t forget what you heard , then God will bless you for doing it {RPT} . |
Jas.4:11 |
11μὴ
καταλαλεῖτε
ἀλλήλων,
ἀδελφοί.
ὁ
καταλαλῶν
ἀδελφοῦ
ἢ
κρίνων
τὸν
ἀδελφὸν
αὐτοῦ,
καταλαλεῖ
νόμου
καὶ
κρίνει
νόμον·
εἰ
δὲ
νόμον
κρίνεις,
οὐκ
εἶ
ποιητὴς
νόμου
ἀλλὰ
κριτής. |
11 Don’t speak evil against each other , dear brothers and sisters . * If you criticize {RPT} and judge each other , then you are criticizing {RPT} and judging God’s law . But your job is to obey the law , not to judge whether it applies to you . |
