Heb.10:32 32ἀναμιμνήσκεσθε δὲ τὰς πρότερον ἡμέρας· ἐν αἷς φωτισθέντες πολλὴν ἄθλησιν ὑπεμείνατε παθημάτων· 32 {NEQ} Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ .  *  Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering .
Heb.12:2 2ἀφορῶντες εἰς τὸν τῆς πίστεως ἀρχηγὸν καὶ τελειωτήν, Ἰησοῦν· ὃς ἀντὶ τῆς προκειμένης αὐτῷ χαρᾶς, ὑπέμεινεν σταυρόν, αἰσχύνης καταφρονήσας· ἐν δεξιᾷ τε τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ θεοῦ κεκάθικεν. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus , the champion who initiates and perfects our faith .  *  {RPT} Because of the joy  *  awaiting him , he endured the cross , disregarding its shame . Now he is seated in the place of honor beside {RPT} God’s {RPT} throne .
Heb.12:3 3ἀναλογίσασθε γὰρ τὸν τοιαύτην ὑπομεμενηκότα ὑπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν εἰς ἑαυτὸν ἀντιλογίαν, ἵνα μὴ κάμητε ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν ἐκλυόμενοι. 3 {NEQ} Think of all the hostility {NEQ} he endured from {NEQ} sinful people ;  *  then you won’t become weary and give up {RPT} .
Heb.12:7 7εἰς παιδείαν ὑπομένετε, ὡς υἱοῖς ὑμῖν προσφέρεται θεός. τίς γὰρ υἱὸς ὃν οὐ παιδεύει πατήρ; 7 As you endure this divine discipline , remember that {NEQ} God is treating you as his own children . {NEQ} Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father ?
Jas.1:12 12μακάριος ἀνὴρ ὃς ὑπομένει πειρασμόν· ὅτι δόκιμος γενόμενος λήμψεται τὸν στέφανον τῆς ζωῆς ὃν ἐπηγγείλατο τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν. 12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation . {NEQ} Afterward they will receive the crown of {NEQ} life that God has promised to those who love him .
Jas.5:11 11ἰδοὺ μακαρίζομεν τοὺς ὑπομείναντας· τὴν ὑπομονὴν Ἰὼβ ἠκούσατε· καὶ τὸ τέλος κυρίου εἴδετε, ὅτι πολύσπλαγχνός ἐστιν κύριος καὶ οἰκτίρμων. 11 {NEQ} We give great honor to those who endure under suffering . For instance , you know about Job , a man of {NEQ} great endurance . {NEQ} You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end , for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy .
1Pet.2:20 20ποῖον γὰρ κλέος εἰ ἁμαρτάνοντες καὶ κολαφιζόμενοι ὑπομενεῖτε; ἀλλ᾽ εἰ ἀγαθοποιοῦντες καὶ πάσχοντες ὑπομενεῖτε, τοῦτο χάρις παρὰ θεῷ. 20 Of course , you get no credit for being patient if {NEQ} you are beaten for doing wrong . But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently , God {RPT} is pleased with you .
